Gardening

A while back, I posted about Kevin putting in two raised-bed gardens in our back yard. I thought I'd update on the progress of our vegetables. If I were like Heather, I'd have a special name for this (Like "The Home List") but....Gardening will have to do :) I'll be posting soon about another "Home List" type thing I've done this summer.

Here are our plants:

Lettuce

Tomatoes

Broccoli

Peas
(they grow fast and these three pictures show how the flower turns into the pod)

Carrots
We also have Zucchini (because we all know how much Kevin loves it!), Peppers, and Cucumber; but my pictures of those didn't turn out so great because I took them at dusk last night. We had a salad last night with the lettuce and peas from the garden....it was great! :)

And, most of you come for pictures of Chloe....So, here is the most recent!

Oh, and you can use my oh-so-creative and clever title if you'd like!

We can't wait to camp with you all...Chloe and Grace and Leah will have SO much fun together.

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
