Handyman

Kevin was Mr. Handyman over last weekend and completed two projects. First, he boxed in and dug up a section of our yard that we're using for a vegetable garden.

We planted seeds last night for some of the plants and will plant some seeds directly into the ground (after danger of frost is gone, of course). We are looking forward to fresh vegetables this summer!

Second, my wonderful husband made a counter-top space for the kitchen. It holds the microwave, as you can see...

and that frees up this counter space:
This makes me so happy! We don't have too much counter space anyway, and our microwave was taking up so much room. It's so nice to have the extra area! :)

WOW!! Way to go Kevin!...that's a pan full of brownie points. I'm so impressed with the garden!! I think I'm going to try to convince my parents to have one this year that we can enjoy some tasty treats from...just not sure I'm ready to encounter the spiders on our own turf.

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)
