Shower for Chelle

On Saturday we had a Kitchen Shower for Michelle ~ with her kitchen colors being the theme....Check out all the red, yellow, and teal :) Did you notice that these photos seem a little dark? That's because there was no power at the church!  Heavy storms in the area caused a power outage for 2 days, but these ladies were gracious enough not to make it a big deal!! Michelle (myself too!) has been blessed to know these ladies for a long time and we had a great time celebrating together.  A shout-out to Michelle G. who helped me out with food & ideas :) Thanks!

Just Makes Me Laugh

Watch Chloe's progression here...and laugh along with me! :)

Rocking Chair

A little while ago we acquired this rocking chair...and April has mastered climbing in ..while holding a book :)  She loves sitting and rocking!! Thanks for parting with it Grandma and Grandpa & thanks for the "sprucing up" Poppop :)

Our weekend

We traveled to see the Jones family over the weekend. We've known them since college, and they actually gave us credit for meeting each other! We're happy to have been a part of making this lovely family exist ;)  Our friends, the Martins, joined us on Saturday afternoon and it was so much fun spending the weekend together. They live right across the street from a playground, and Saturday morning we took the girls there to play.  Eliana has the same bike helmet as Chloe!! We had a great time playing (and not taking pictures) and then headed back home for lunch.  Afternoon naps were enjoyed and then we headed outside for some water play. Judah and April playing in the smallest backyard pool ever: Chloe blowing bubbles: Judah left the pool, but April loved sitting and splashing! Look at Kevin's face...I don't think he thought Chloe would actually spill water on him.....Neither did Dallas....only Natalie was taking cover at this point..... But she

#30

Happy Birthday Kevin! You are the best husband and Dad. And I really mean it. Thank you for working hard for your family & providing so well for us.  You are an example of Christ's love to me and to the girls.  We love you!

Aunt Laura

Happy Birthday Aunt Laura! :) We love you!

Chloe at (almost) 3 years

Just typing 3 years seems a little strange, but Chloe is more 3 than 2 these days.  She just keeps growing and growing. Chloe says her favorite color is purple & would wear her a purple shirt everyday if she had 7.  She has 2, which means more often than not, I have to tell her that the purple shirts are in the laundry.  Chloe likes to have a say in her clothing, only requires a little bit of help to get dressed, and can put on her shoes by herself. She can write her name and has a good start on her letter sounds.  She can count to 20 but usually skips 16.  Chloe enjoys writing and coloring, but would draw on her magnadoodle the whole way to Grandma and Grandpa's house given the chance. She loves to play with other kids, but is pretty shy around older children.  She usually just plays around them...She takes care of her baby, Schnookums, all day long.  She likes to play "I'm the Mom, you be the nursery helper" and will occasionally sit still long enough

7th Annual

We went on our 7th Annual Camping Trip with the Deterdings! How fun to have 5 little girls at your campsite ;) Here are some pictures, in no particular order, from our weekend: Avery and April take a bath! Miss Heather in a very natural pose:   This is what happens when you fall down too much...by the last day, your mother has no "outfits" left, and you must wear this.... The "Big Girls" waiting for the campfire: Mr. Steve and Daddy got to play some catch...and Chloe & Leah joined them.  These next three photos show you Chloe's skills: 1. Glove is out, ready to catch the baseball... 2.  Couldn't catch it.... 3. But she can throw! Do you see that follow-through!? Saturday morning it was wet from all the rain we had overnight, but that didn't stop the Big Girls from planning a hike with their Daddy's. Backpacks, snacks, a map, and binoculars were all taken along...and they did see some deer! We were a

hmm..

well, I've got two blog posts in the works....Camping trip from last weekend & an update on Chloe at almost 3. But - I was just informed that I have used all my storage space....any thoughts on how to change that? Not sure....so the posts are coming, I just have to figure it out....

Final Catch-up post ~ Visiting over the 4th

We went to visit with Kevin's family over the 4th of July weekend. We saw Kevin's mom's side of the family at a picnic on the 4th ...and it included Uncle Mark and Aunt JungMin! They are here in the States for a little while..and we couldn't be happier! :) Chloe loved playing on Allison and Stephen's swing-set. and April loved walking around the yard :) Everyone all together!! If you look closely, you'll see how April felt about having to let go of the croquet mallet for the photo :) That night, we made it to Grandma and Grandpa's house....and learned that they had a horse in their family room! Chloe loved it - after 4 days, April had gotten over her fear & touched it's leg....but wouldn't ride it! :) Thursday we went to a park that had a small village set-up for children to ride their bikes in.  Kevin and Mark used to come with their bikes, and we enjoyed watching Chloe cruise around.  April loved swinging, of course.
