We went to visit with Kevin's family over the 4th of July weekend. We saw Kevin's mom's side of the family at a picnic on the 4th ...and it included Uncle Mark and Aunt JungMin! They are here in the States for a little while..and we couldn't be happier! :)
Chloe loved playing on Allison and Stephen's swing-set.
and April loved walking around the yard :)
Everyone all together!! If you look closely, you'll see how April felt about having to let go of the croquet mallet for the photo :)
That night, we made it to Grandma and Grandpa's house....and learned that they had a horse in their family room! Chloe loved it - after 4 days, April had gotten over her fear & touched it's leg....but wouldn't ride it! :)
Thursday we went to a park that had a small village set-up for children to ride their bikes in. Kevin and Mark used to come with their bikes, and we enjoyed watching Chloe cruise around.
April loved swinging, of course.
We tried to stay in the shade to keep cool ~ but it was still pretty warm!!
Back at home for the day, we checked out the trains:
Played with Uncle Mark:
and after dinner, Grandma and Grandpa surprised Chloe with a scooter! It's what all the kids on our street have, and this almost-3 year old couldn't wait to try it out.
That night, we were able to sneak away after bed-time to go bowling with Mark & JungMin. We played 4 games in 2 hours....and everyone was tired afterwards :)
On Friday night (after an excellent dinner at Olive Garden) we set up the sprinkler for the girls....and Daddy...and Uncle Mark...could run through it. Chloe was a lot braver than I thought she'd be
and April didn't like it at all!
On Saturday, JungMin and Chloe did some water coloring in the morning....
April mastered climbing up on the rocking chair....and we went to the local library for a little bit.
Saturday night we went to a Korean restaurant and sampled some cuisine that tastes like home to JungMin :) I asked her if she had a favorite, and she said she liked it all! Mark did the ordering for us - and it was quite clear that he has spent some time in Korea....speaking a foreign language would be a challenge for me....and he made it look easy :)
JungMin and Mark gave a panda bear to the girls and we got some good pictures with him:
Here is the best picture of the group (minus me) while they were watching a Veggie Tales video on Mark's iPad....We didn't spent too much time like this ~ as you can tell from the other pictures ~ but it was kind of fun to have around to check email :)
We had a great visit and are looking forward to more visits soon :)
