36 Weeks

As of last Thursday I am at 36 weeks (which means 37 tomorrow!). Only one more picture to take!! At my doctor's appointment last week he informed me that if I went into labor, they would not stop me and that I was 28 days away from my due date. I told him I had a lot more things to do before 28 days were up! I've been busy working on my list of "to-dos" and I'm feeling better about her coming. I've got her things packed up for the hospital and I'm working on gathering my things too. It could be another month before we meet her, but I want to be ready just in case she comes early! With Chloe in the mix this time, I'm thankful to use nap-times as a chance to get ready :) This baby might be more active than Chloe was at this point ~ she moves and kicks more than I think she should be able to! Here is what babycenter.com says about 36 weeks: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pound

Dress Up

Boots! A wrap-dress - really, a maternity shirt :) Easter hat and new sunglasses

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend! It started on Thursday when Chloe went to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a sleepover and Kevin and I went to a Third Day concert. We had general-admission tickets, but walked by a security man at just the right time, found out we could sit in seats on the floor-leve l, and ended up 10 rows back from the stage! It was a great show and I was really excited to be in a chair instead of a bleacher seat!! We got to visit with Laura, Bill, and Connor on Friday night for dinner when we went to my parents to pick up Chloe. She had a wonderful time at their house ~ lots of laughing and practicing "Bill" (to go along with "Lawa" and "bay-bee"). Connor is getting really big! He's bigger than Chloe was at two months :) Then! On Saturday morning we packed up everything and headed to visit our friends Jeff and Liz and their little girl Eliana. After nap time on Saturday afternoon we went to the park across the street from their h

Nothing Like It

I'd have to say that there isn't anything as cute as a baby wearing sunglasses. Chloe was cute in her's....and Connor is also helping to prove it true: How could you look at this and not smile?? I know this Aunt is!!

New Set-up

Like I mentioned in my previous post, we re-arranged Chloe's bedroom (or "the girls' bedroom) in preparation for Little Sister's arrival. Here is Chloe on her new bed: and here are two pictures of the new set-up. We moved the crib, added the toddler bed and a dresser. I have a family tree for Baby #2 that will hang next to Chloe's above the dressers. Chloe is doing great in her new bed and I had fun moving in some sweet infant clothes from boxes into the dresser :) Only a few more weeks until this little baby will join us!

Big Girl Bed

Chloe and Dad put together Chloe's toddler bed last weekend. This morning I finished making a "bumper" of sorts to put on the open side of the bed and she napped in her new bed this afternoon! Here are the pictures of her helping assemble the bed: We also re-arranged the room this morning to make room for the bed and in preparation for Baby Sister. Those pictures are still on the camera - I'll be doing a blog post on that soon :)

She didn't have any fun....

Yeah right! Chloe had a blast the other night with some friends that came over for dinner. I just had to post these pictures because they are just loving life! It's fun to see Chloe getting to the age where she's interacting with other children - not just with her parents! This little girl was also loving life, just not expressing it in the same way :) Once the weather warms up, it will be good to get back into having people over for dinner ~ I feel like in cold weather we don't do it as often. Maybe in my mind is seems easier in the summer months because Kevin can grill ;)

Boo-Boo

Two weeks ago, Chloe went down a (very short) slide head first and ended up with a rug-burn on her nose. A few days went by before she noticed it while looking at herself in the mirror. I told her that she had a boo-boo, could she say boo-boo? Oh yes. Chloe could say boo-boo. And she would gladly point out her boo-boo to anyone who asked about it. She liked to tell me about her boo-boo and let me know where it was.... For a while, I thought she was going to forget the word 'nose' and just say 'boo-boo' instead. I'm happy to report that the boo-boo is pretty much gone :)

Chloe and Connor

Well...I might have just spent too much time looking at pictures from when Chloe was a baby.....I'm excited for the new baby that will be arriving soon :) Chloe used to be so little - and stayed where I put her! :) I thought I would try to find some pictures of Chloe in similar positions as her cousin and compare them....What do you think: Around 1 month: Also around 1 month: Around 1 1/2 months: Some similarities....some differences.....I suppose that's bound to happen if your moms are twins :)

A Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's

On Friday afternoon we set out to surprise Kevin's dad with a visit ~ he had retired earlier in the week and we thought we'd celebrate with him for the weekend. Kevin's mom knew we were coming....but I think we successfully surprised Grandpa S. :) Chloe could hardly believe that they had a play sweeper: She played with this a lot during the weekend....and all their other cool toys as well :) Saturday was sunny (but windy!) so we got to hang out at the playground for a little bit. Chloe loved the slides: And everyone got a chance to swing: We also got to visit with Aunt Karen, Uncle Bob, and Stephen. Stephen would have made an excellent big brother (he's the little brother in his family) - he was very nice with Chloe, showing her how this tape player worked....although, he was probably a little disappointed that she can't say Stephen yet. We're still practicing though ~ maybe she'll have it down soon and I'll be able to put it on video! :) We went to

32 Weeks

Only 8 or so weeks left until we meet this baby girl! Here is what BabyCenter.com says about week 32: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds ( pick up a large jicama ) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. So, while she's plumping up in preparation for birth, we are organizing, reading through our name list, talking about furniture arrangements and working on a few projects to prepare for her birth :) Looking forward to 2 months from now!
