A Family Reunion

Kevin's dad's side of the family got together over the weekend. We went out Friday and came back on Sunday, and we packed a whole lot of fun into that short amount of time!

Here we are, about halfway there. Our kids have always done well in the car, and as they get older it's remaining true! We didn't have an audio book this time, but we managed to stay pleasant ;)

Saturday morning brought a ping-pong tournament & most participated!

After it stopped raining, we dragged everyone outside for a photo. I only have a few of the ones with Mimi and all her great-grandchildren. We took a whole group photo as well!

After church & lunch on Sunday we made our return trek, but not before this sweet moment: my baby, holding a baby :)  So sweet!!

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)
