Life Lately

April had a great birthday.  Turning 9 has never been this good :)  She had a special sign sent by a friend and we had fun with that through the day. I arranged for a bunch of friends and relatives to stop by (staying in cars) and we spend most of the beautiful-weather day outside.  It was fun to see so many people and it made April feel special!

A few days ago when the weather was nicer, the kids were working hard on fairy gardens. I think it turned out really well, and super cute!

Chloe needed a bigger bicycle and she got to go help pick it out.  Purple and 21 speeds!  Of course, this led to a Dad & Kids bike ride :)

The kids don't have new school work on Wednesdays or (of course) over the weekend. That has led to some sibling sleepovers. The girls spent a night in Peter's room. They prefer when he comes to their room though :)  We just pick up his mattress and bring it over - everyone stays comfy!

May the 4th was an obvious choice to watch a Star Wars movie!  The girls weren't as sure, but as we watched the original 3, they liked them more and more. We will probably be waiting to show them any additional movies from the series, but they did enjoy these ones. Of course, they were scared and hiding behind pillows (the girls anyway) during different parts, but overall they were enjoying!

We've taken lots of family walks.  These three are loving their matching shirts from Aunt Michelle.  Really, they can't wait to wear them when they see their cousins soon!!

What have I been doing? Lots of grocery shopping, wearing my mask ;)

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
