End of Year Festivities

What a wonderful time of year.  Our girls wanted to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and pray before heading out to see what was under the tree for them.  It was also requested that we have a birthday cake for breakfast -- so that's what we did :)  I think Dad would like to have an "egg casserole cake", but this year it was just vanilla ;)

We got to see my side of the family on Christmas day and the day after....then we were on the road and visited with Kevin's grandparents and extended family, then spent a few days with his parents, brother, and sister-in-law.  I'm just going to post the pictures, they are pretty self explanatory! :)

Kevin got Peter a tool box this year.  Next year and the years to come, Peter will get a real tool to put in this box and will end up with a nice collection by the time he's grown up!

Peter got an R2D2 puff-ball from Mawna and Pap....Kevin declared it the best gift of Christmas ;)

April decided to cover her eyes while Grandpa got this gift open for her :)  Pure delight!

Of course, when we got back we had to celebrate New Years Eve!  Had friends over for a "pajama party" :)  Here are all the kids toasting with some sparkling juice....such excitement!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
