Connor Visit Part #2

Thursday was a hang-out in the morning day...just doing a little jammin on the guitar...

and mid-morning we headed up to see Mommom Ritter.  Nothing like having 3 active kiddos in a small apartment, but it was okay :)

We had a nice lunch at Applebees, met up with my mom for a wander-around-Target and then headed home for naps.  Laura and I took the kids to the pool that evening, and Chloe will proudly tell you that she jumped in and can breathe under water...with Aunt Laura.  No One Else.

Friday we did bubbles and outside playing in the morning...a Pinterest idea that actually worked - covered the cut-off end of a water bottle with an old washcloth, dipped it in bubbles, and then the kids blew through the top of the bottle.  It created a bubble...blob :) and it was fun!

Uncle Kevin got a new helper with the lawn cutting!

This was probably around 11 in the morning...and it was already 85 degrees. Hot Hot Hot.

Since Kevin had the day off, we took advantage and during lunch met up with my mom and sister to celebrate our birthday.  Our waitress was nice to put a candle in the cheesecake we ordered!

On Saturday, we hung out at home....then went to a spray-park after grabbing some lunch at Wendy's.  The spray part of the park wasn't working (motor broken) so we just played on the Hot Hot Hot playground instead.  These children could care less than it's 95 degrees! There are fun things to do!  Chloe did take a short break to hang with Aunt Laura in the shade...

These two partners-in-crime wanted nothing to do with taking breaks....

While I had given Kevin a hard time for not coming with us, it turns out he was hard at work cleaning and prepping for a birthday dinner at our house!  My parents and sister came down and we had a fun time celebrating!

There were cupcakes for the kiddos....and those cupcakes were enjoyed. and devoured.

Bedtime stories were getting more and more crowded :)  The more the merrier I say!

It was so so much fun to have Connor come stay with us - I want to do it again next summer! :)

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
