8th Annual

Windmill spotted on the way to the campground!

We had a bit of an adventure when we arrived for our 8th Annual Deterding-Sanders Camping Trip.  The cabins I reserved for the weekend were NOT close to each other.  After talking to numerous people, in the pouring down rain, we ended up switching out a cabin for a yurt.  Don't know what that is? Take a look at this beauty:

It's like a circle-cabin (with a fridge, stove top, and counterspace!).  Totally comfy and next to our friends :)  The rest of Friday involved dinner...which was adjusted because it was still raining...and early bedtimes for the kiddos.  By that time, the rain had stopped so the guys made a fire for the parents to enjoy :)

Saturday morning brought smiles from this little thing :)

And, April wanted to sit with Grace and Avery...
although Avery doesn't look to sure about her buddy :)

April brought some toys to share....and Avery and Leah jumped right in.

Where were Grace & Chloe?  Playing in the mud :)

April was eventually lured over by the glorious 'stream' and 'bridges' (made from sticks)....

But then, the rain picked up again so it was into the yurt for coloring....

and eating Jane's fingers!  Just kidding....April didn't actually bite her :) Baby Jane does like touching faces though :)

Then, when the rain stopped, the big girls (Grace, Leah, and Chloe) went for a scooter/bike ride with Kevin...while Avery and April experimented with a smaller bike (and smaller path)....

But why bike for long when there is a puddle nearby? And, the helmet acts as an umbrella ;)

The big girls came back eventually....and enjoyed biking/scooting around the circle.

After lunch (outfit #2 for April) was more playing around the cabin....I don't think April really liked this....

yeah right....she loved it and would have stayed out ALL DAY if she was allowed!!

Nap time for the little girls (Jane, April, Avery) meant time for the 2nd Annual Afternoon Hike with the Dads for the big girls.  :)

When they got back, and the little girls woke up, it was off to the playground (outfit #3 for April).

Daddy likes to swing too!

And so does April & Mommy!

After dinner....Chloe volunteered to help with dishes!

and April was loving all the dandelion puffs around the site.

This next picture shows you a little of the craziness than happens with SIX little girls at a campsite.  I have no idea what April was up to, or what Leah was laughing at.  Just having fun!!

Then....the moment they were all waiting for...the girls got to make SMORES.

(April in outfit #4)

sleepy smore sweetie :)

Sunday brought an early check-out time, time at the park, and a windy picnic lunch.  We had a wonderful time camping with these dear friends.  :)

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
