Chloe's Quilt

When we first started prepping for a transition to twin beds for Chloe and April, I started seeing pictures online of these "scrappy trip quilts" that seemed to be pretty easy to put together.  6 rows on a diagonal lend the pattern to many different designs...plus, there was a "cheat" step so as not to sew itty-bitty squares together.

I started this process at the end of January.  I bought material, started Chloe's and Aprils, bought more material, charted out which squares I would need.....stopped working on April's, since she has her bed rail up (a good enough excuse) and just focused on getting Chloe's done.

Today, we put it on her bed!!

6 rows by 8 rows....48 blocks....288 strips of fabric....15 bobbin re-fills :)  She seems to like it :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Happy 4th Birthday Chloe!

You are growing into a compassionate, cheerful, young lady! We love you Chloe and are looking forward to this year with you!! 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013
