Christmas Review

Go get a cup of coffee, or your beverage of choice, before settling in for this blog post.  It's a long one, full of pictures, showing you our Crazy Christmas of hundreds of miles traveled and hundreds of smiles from Chloe and April :)

First, we went to Mimi and Poppop's on the 21st.  Do you think that Chloe is smiling because she's sitting with Grandpa, or because she's got a plate of cookies for dinner? :)

These two little girls were absolutely nuts when we changed them into Christmas pajamas!  SO excited that this is best picture I could get (Chloe is making the V because Uncle Mark and Aunt JungMin taught her - you'll see if a few more times I think!)

Christmas morning ~ these two in their Santa hats, looking jolly :)

Uncle Mark and Aunt JungMin making sure they are in the top running for Best Uncle and Aunt (they are, on Kevin's side ;) )

After lunch and presents on Saturday, we left and went to Kevin's parents house .... and April sat watching the train until we turned it off. I think she would have stayed there all night!

We went to church on Sunday and had Kevin's Mom's sister and family over for dinner.  It was nice to see them and play with the tea set and purse they got Chloe and April!!

Family picture on Monday!

Let the gifts begin - someone was excited about legos.....

and someone else was excited about Vernors :)

This little girl snuck a donut hole.  Can you tell which cheeks it's in? ;)

This is my typical pose when receiving gifts.  I hold it up and smile.....

so Aunt JungMin did too :)

Monday after lunch - and a stop at Mark and JungMin's apartment - we drove back to....our church parking lot.  We attended the Christmas Eve service and THEN went home.

We got our house ready for Christmas morning....

and had a nice quiet time opening gifts with the girls. Ha. :)  We didn't take too many pictures - but we had fun :)

Then, it was up to Alison's parents to open presents.

April LOVES this puppy she got from Aunt Michelle and Uncle Tom.  She calls it "Cinnamon" because that's Chelle's puppy's name :)

Again, with the pose -- but look what I got! Come over for dinner and I'll cook you something good!

This picture warms my heart.  Chloe was TOTALLY SURPRISED (as was I) that she received this baby doll car seat.  I had basically told her that Mawna (my mom) wasn't going to get her this, and that she'd get something else really great instead.  But, in the four days since we had seen my mom, she and my Dad went on a mission and found this!!! Chloe was flabbergasted when she opened it.  I think it's because I told her she wasn't getting one, and then....there it was!! Totally shocked and so excited.  The smile says it all:

Taking pictures of the train:

Our girls slept until 10am on the 26th.  So much Christmas celebration! We went to my grandma's house later in the afternoon and got to see Connor for the first time!  He's so cute, that Chloe and April couldn't take their eyes off him ;)

Also, we woke up to snow on the 26th -- these two are loving it!

On the 27th, Alison's parents, sister, brother-in-law, and Connor came down for dinner & gift exchanging.  Again, Chloe received just what she asked for! Aunt Laura is great!

She did this pose all by herself! (It's what I look like vacuuming too)

For the rest of the week, we hung out at home, went to local train display (Hi Hoffmans!!) and played with our new things....and of course, went in the snow!

Chutes and Ladders (she's beat Kevin and me both!)

New robe and slippers :)

She'd stay out there forever. She calls it "ice cream" and likes to eat the snow :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Mexico 2025 ;)

After a year of not blogging, I'm making this post as an attempt to restart :)  We went on a family vacation back in February that was wonderful. It was a good time of year to travel and the picture above is from the first day. We got to the resort at lunchtime, threw on the swimsuits, and then had a dinner reservation at 6! So it was a jam-packed day but everyone was thrilled! We enjoyed time at the pool, the kids grew more confident in speaking Spanish and ordering drinks, and each night was a great dinner & ice cream at the little coffee shop :) Everyone has said they would go back :)  Maybe some day!
