Chloe at (almost) 3 years

Just typing 3 years seems a little strange, but Chloe is more 3 than 2 these days.  She just keeps growing and growing.

Chloe says her favorite color is purple & would wear her a purple shirt everyday if she had 7.  She has 2, which means more often than not, I have to tell her that the purple shirts are in the laundry.  Chloe likes to have a say in her clothing, only requires a little bit of help to get dressed, and can put on her shoes by herself.

She can write her name and has a good start on her letter sounds.  She can count to 20 but usually skips 16.  Chloe enjoys writing and coloring, but would draw on her magnadoodle the whole way to Grandma and Grandpa's house given the chance. She loves to play with other kids, but is pretty shy around older children.  She usually just plays around them...She takes care of her baby, Schnookums, all day long.  She likes to play "I'm the Mom, you be the nursery helper" and will occasionally sit still long enough to do an entire puzzle.

Chloe is a pretty obedient child, but needs to be reminded to share with April, speak kindly to April, and to say "please" about a million times a day ;)  Pretty typical of a 3 year old I think!!   She continues to eat just about everything that is on her plate ~ the only thing she hasn't really liked are raw carrots (she'll eat cooked ones!) and sauerkraut, but who can blame her?

We took this picture right before the camping hike.....I'm going to compare it to her "first day of school" picture in 2 years!!!  Goodness, this mother's heart can handle it!

We love you Chloe Grace! I can't wait until it's finally August 12th, so when you ask, I can say "Yes!! It's your birthday!!" :) Can't wait to see what year 3 brings :)

Alison, she is such an adorable little girl and reminds me a lot of Ilana. They'd probably be great friends. :)

Want to guess when Baby #2 is going to arrive? Post a comment, or send me an email, with your guess and I'll add you in! As a review, here are the rules to the game (taken from Heather Deterding!): 1. Post your guess for the baby's arrival in the "comment" section. Be sure to specify both date and time of day -- either "am" or "pm". 2. Limit one guess per person, and only one entry per time slot-- no sharing! 3. Winner is determined based on time of birth. For example, if the baby is born on April 20th at 7 AM, a guess of "April 20th, AM" would be the winner. In the event that there is no entry for the correct arrival time, the next closest guess based on actual time of birth would win. 4. We will post entries on the Calendar above. Check prior entries before placing your guess! Dates not displayed on the calendar above are still up for grabs. 5. The winner will receive... bragging rights and a congratulatory post h...

Chloe at 11 months

I can hardly believe that Chloe will have her 1st birthday next month. She is getting increasingly mobile these days - her 'crawl' is getting faster and faster. She is also pulling up on anything she trusts and occasionally cruises from one place to another. If you watched the video, you have also seen that she can use the walker...but needs Dad's help on the turns :) Chloe still loves music of any kind ~ she sways back and forth when the music starts. Singing will bring her out of any temper tantrum or pout. She likes to be outside and still tries to eat rocks...something we're still slowly learning... Over Memorial Day, Chloe had quite an interest in the American flag and at the 4th of July we found that her love hadn't faded and she carried around the flag all day. She likes her new toys (nesting boxes and a "push the button, door pops open") but is still interested in some of her old ones. She likes anything with a lid and has a new fascination ...
