Thanksgiving 2011

It's hard to take pictures during holidays....but I have a few that will help show what we did for Thanksgiving this year:

Thanksgiving Football (thanks to Bill for planning!) in which I won an award for being Most Enthusiastic. Thinking back to my college flag-football days when I was once called for unnecessary roughness, I think I'm moving in a good direction ;)

April's first Thanksgiving! I packed green-beans, squash, and pears for her to eat....which isn't quite the same as green-bean casserole, sweet potatoes, and apple pie but I don't think she minded!

The day after Thanksgiving we headed to my mom's house. My sister, mom, and I made candy (with some help from Chloe) and the guys practiced shooting clay-pigeons. They were gone for a really long time and we had 3 adults vs. 3 kids (two and under!) at home, but we somehow managed to have our most successful year of candy-making without them ;) Chloe couldn't keep out of the powdered sugar. She was addicted.

This little girl was a peach all day and liked playing tunes on the piano...

and at the end of the day we had this:

Then we got in the car when it was dark to drive to Kevin's grandparents....which meant that Chloe talked for the entire. car. ride. My candy-making-brain could hardly take any more and then we arrived! Chloe celebrated by dancing with her baby doll.

I celebrated by getting my picture taken with this sweet girl:

Chloe and April were the only kiddos and during Chloe's nap, April had her moment to shine with all the adults. She was loving the attention and just smiled and smiled. At some point she also took both her socks off :)

We had a lot of fun, and Poppop had the bright idea that we should all get together again at the end of December. I think we'll take him up on the offer :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Happy 4th Birthday Chloe!

You are growing into a compassionate, cheerful, young lady! We love you Chloe and are looking forward to this year with you!! 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013
