April Hope is 7 Months

Every time I post about April turning another month older, I can't believe it! Seems like just yesterday that she was a little newborn!

April can now sit up on her own and enjoys playing with a basket of toys. Her favorites right now seem to be any type of ball....and the basket that the toys are in :) It's my favorite stage of parenting -- sitting, but not yet crawling :)

She really seems to enjoy bath time and splashing in the water. April is generally a very happy little girl and only is fussy when it's nap time!

She sleeps from 8pm to 8am (with that 10 o'clock feeding still hanging in there....) and eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She has liked all the baby food I've given her, but a little bit of fruit on the bites of veggies helps them go down easier :) She originally would blow raspberries for any type of vegetable, but that seems to have stopped. Her favorite food would probably be pears.

We love you more and more April Hope - can't wait to see what this next month brings!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
