New Friend...a Photo Essay

Chloe got to meet a new friend this weekend ~ Eliana and her parents came for a short visit. Here is the cutie pie wearing an adorable headband:

After we visited over dinner, the moms thought we could try to take some pictures of the girls....Here's a short look at how successful that was, with Chloe's 'voice' as the picture captions:

Um, Mom? I think this baby is losing her pacifier....That can't be good.

What is this baby doing? She doesn't look too happy.

Hello Eliana....it will be okay...don't worry....

Are we done now?
You think that four adults standing directly in front of them saying their names would have been enough to get them to look straight ahead....Not one time is Chloe looking at the camera! Group pictures with the dads didn't go much better.

We had a great visit with Eliana and her parents. Hope to see you again soon!

This was a great visit! I'm so glad our little ones got to meet each other -- next time it will have to be earlier in the day before Eliana has 'had it' with life! :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)
