Big Girl! Chloe at 5 months

Chloe is 5 months old and such a sweetie pie!

In the last two weeks, Chloe has really started sitting up on her own. Here she is, in her room, playing on her own ~ take note of the bracelet that's around her wrist...It's from the purse* that her grandparents gave her for Christmas. I didn't put it there, but Chloe must have known that's where it belongs! The cutie-pie outfit is from Aunt Laura and Uncle Bill.

Chloe has also started taking baths in the big tub ~ the sink was just too small! Here she is waving hello:

And, who doesn't have a picture of their little girl in the tub with a fancy hair-do? :)

*Both of us know the words to all the songs that the purse can 'sing'. "Ready to go out, I'll bring my purse along. Get my keys and bracelet, sing a little song. Look into the mirror, put my lipstick on. Wave and say bye-bye, I won't be gone too long!"....If only you knew the melody it would be stuck in your head all day!! :) Chloe loves it and gives the purse a big smile every time it starts to sing. :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)
