July was Busy!

July was a busy month compared to a very isolated/quaranteed Spring!
These photos don't really want to cooperate. I'm going to label them, but they aren't really in date order...

Made pickles! :)

Birthday girls!

Birthday Boy!

We went to West Virginia to visit with our friends Jeff and Liz and their kids.  It was a fun day of exploring - we were so happy that it worked out to see them.

This was from the fourth of July.  HOT morning for biking!  April's bike also broke and I sent them all back to the van while I ran/rode her bike back....I was ready to jump in the Hoffman's pool for sure!

Camping with the BarHoffDavSan group was quite eventful this year.  Connor caught a chipmunk, we climbed a mountain, we fixed broken cars, pinched fingers, and brush burns; hiked; stepped in a bee's nest....and everyone hugged goodbye and happily headed home ;)

We got to visit with Mimi on our way home from camping.  Chloe is now as tall as Mimi :)

We also spent a weekend at our friend's cottage near Pymatuning Lake. We had SO much fun - it was the perfect amount of activity and relaxation!

During the last weekend in July (I told you it was a busy month!) I got to go away for an overnight with my sisters.  We relaxed and laughed a lot. It was fun and I hope it becomes an annual event!!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!
