Spring Break Trip to the Zoo

Mawna and I took the kids to the Zoo on Wednesday during their break from school.  The first animal that we saw was the tiger, and Peter was totally amazed.  The tiger stood up and started walking around I think Peter was surprised it was real!! So fun to watch him experience the zoo for the first time :)

"Dory" fish in the aquarium

We spent an extra-long time at the polar bear exhibit.  It was the first time I'd seen this bear do anything other than sleep - it was really active!  We watched from above as it swam around and came back out.

Then we walked down lower and watched some more.

Then, we went into the tunnel inside of the bear's habitat - and it went for another swim!! It was so close to us!

Sea Lions playing with the kids by the glass ended our fun day at the Zoo! We had a great time :)

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)
