Thanksgiving and Start of Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving! We hosted twenty-some people this year and for the first time, I was in charge of the main dish.....

Look at that turkey! My dear friend Natalie helped me with all the directions on how to cook a turkey - I followed what she said and it was delicious! :)

Kevin took care of the carving...

Aunt JungMin made sure Peter didn't think he was missing out :)

Food, food, so much food. This is something to be thankful for!!!

Mawna made fall dresses for the girls. Here's the best picture I got.

The day after Thanksgiving, it's tradition for the girls to make candy and for the boys to go shooting.  Kevin's family got to participate this year for the first time.  Fun was had by all....mostly because the moms get tired quickly and let the kids watch television :)

Our final product!

The next weekend was a kick-off to Christmas with our Ladies Christmas Tea at church.  The girls came along with me.

The next afternoon we went downtown to see Santa and to check out the gingerbread house display.

Then, on Sunday we got our Christmas tree. See everyone huddled around that one branch?

Here are all the ornaments - and I left them there.  I love this part of having small children.  They do it how they want, and around proud of the finished product. How could I move things around? I think it looks perfect!! :)

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
