Peter is One Month!

As of Sunday, Peter William is a month old -- already! Today we went to the doctors, which is why I've waited to update the blog...so we know his stats...

Peter is 10 pounds 14 ounces (!!!) and 22 1/2 inches long.  That puts him in the 70th percentile for weight and 88th percentile for height.

We've been adjusting to having a baby at our house.  The two big sisters LOVE their brother, and often ask to hold him.  When he starts making any noise they volunteer to get his binky and "shhh" him :)

Peter likes to do tummy time, which is a first here at our house.  The doctor was impressed with how much head control and eye contact he had....and told me at the end of the appointment that Peter is a "perfect baby"....

He started sleeping from around 10:30pm to 6:30 am over the weekend -- which is making him the perfect baby in my mind too! :)

He's given us a few smiles....above is the closest thing I've gotten on camera. But, it's so much better -- his smiles are a big, open mouthed grin....

We've loved this first month with our son and can't wait to see him continue to grow!!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
