No excuse for the lack of blog posts. Just had to get the pictures off the camera.... :)
26 weeks with Baby Boy...almost time to take the 30 week picture! According to babycenter.com, at 26 weeks: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about 1 2/3 pounds and measures 14 inches (about the size of a scallion) from head to heel.
He's moving a lot still and I've felt a few bouts of the hiccups recently! We've started a name list and will have to do some more deciding before May. I feel more pregnant that I actually am, but I blame that mostly on Chloe and April :)
We also (like most of the country) had some winter weather to enjoy in the last few weeks. Here are the girls sledding, and then we used our snowman kits from Aunt Nancy to make a snowman. Also, the girls are pretty much the "neighborhood watch" of the block. In the last snow picture, they are just "watching the neighbors"
Sewing project #1 for 2014 :) I made a small-ish quilt out of aprons and other fabric from my grandma. It has blue houndstooth on the back, with a scrappy panel in the middle. It's nice to have all these special fabric pieces in one place (I didn't buy any of the material for this quilt, so it's also nice to have a little more storage space in the sewing room!).
And Kevin has been working really hard on getting our new room ready. He re-did the ceiling with my Uncle Paul...hung a new ceiling fan (by himself!)....and has finished painting. There is now carpet over the old tile and we'll soon be moving our furniture downstairs! It's the "project before the project" because we will still have our old bedroom to prepare for Baby.
Now you know what's been keeping us busy! Feels like Spring might be arriving soon...which makes me anxious for mid-May and our son to arrive too! :)
