Thanksgiving

We were at Mimi and Poppop's with Kevin's dad's WHOLE side of the family -- the first time in a while that we were all there for a holiday! It was a fun treat to have Aunt Michelle join us for the Thanksgiving Eve service (not too long of a drive to get there!) and have her see some of 'this side' of the family.  Then we settled in for the weekend.

Of course, Thanksgiving day started with some parade watching....

and posing with Grandma:

These two stayed busy in the kitchen, and we ate a marvelous meal!!!

After we were done eating, Cousin Matt had a marvelous idea to go around the table and share what we are thankful for.  I said I was thankful for Christian parents, Christian in-laws and family that I married into. I was also thankful for my new Bible study I joined this year.

In anticipation of Black Friday shopping at midnight (Mark, JungMin, and Alison were the only brave ones) we hung out Thursday night playing games and visiting.

Friday, we went to a local park with Grandpa and Grandma.  Here's Chloe's tactics for feeding the ducks:

April got a little closer because she was smiling ear-to-ear, saying "ducks", and would stand still.  One duck ate a cracker out of her hand!

Later, Chloe looked skeptical of someone's sand creation...

And April loved the slide!

It wasn't as cold as these pictures would suggest.  :)

We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to gearing up for the Christmas season!!

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
