Mark and JungMin's Visit

Uncle Mark and Aunt JungMin had a few free days and decided to come spend them with us! We were excited to have them :) I managed to make it in and out of the city without directions to pick them up from the bus station!!! Anyone who knows me, knows that this is sort-of a big deal :)

This is from dinnertime on Thursday night :)

After dinner we took them to see the best view of our city & then for a little walk around downtown.

Friday was a lazy morning, a car-title-transfer, lunch, hike at a local park...where JungMin was the only adult brave enough to go bare-foot in the water....and helped our girls maneuver through the creek!

After naps we had a "grilled dinner" and then went to the pool!! Later on Friday night Kevin & Mark played ping-pong....can you find the ball? (It's a blur, since it was moving so fast)

Kevin mentioned something about hosting Thanksgiving here so we could have a ping-pong tournament....and I said "as long as Mimi still makes all her good food" :)

We had a great time visiting and 'playing' with these two! Glad it's not that last time for a year....it's just a few weeks :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)
