Time with the Deterdings

We love the Deterdings! They have a blog....but are probably going to link to this post about our trip - having 3 little girls under 4 doesn't leave much time for the computer....

We went camping with our friends last week and 'upgraded' from a tent to cabins ~ little babies can't sleep in tents in September....and neither can their parents :)

It was a little overcast and rainy on the first afternoon, but that didn't stop the girls from visiting:

The next day we headed across the lake to the playground and had a fun time watching the big girls run all over the place and the 2 little girls had fun sitting next to each other ;)

sweet friends!

That night we got to have the s'mores we'd be promising because it wasn't raining and the campfire survived much better than we thought it would!

April was happily surprised to hear that it was our 6th annual trip with the Deterdings....

Then, smart parents that we are, we took our 5 kids to Natalie and Dallas' house for dinner that night - thankfully Natalie didn't mind the girls using her mixing bowl as a toy and we managed to keep the meltdowns under control :) Camping takes a lot out of you! :)

We headed back to our house and the next day took at trip back to the Alma Mater, Grove City College. The parade was first and Chloe kept asking to get in the stroller - nothing was happening, but she seemed to sense that something was coming and wasn't too sure about it. So, I said, sure, sit contained in your stroller - I'll know where you are the whole time! :)

The Deterding family waiting for the parade:

Chloe eventually caught onto the excitement of the parade, but still didn't like the drums very much! We had a picnic lunch...

...and then headed to the kid's area which had a moon-bounce-house. Chloe spent a lot of the time looking like this:
ha! Next, she did the moon-bounce-obstacle-course with Kevin:

After that we walked around campus, watched some of the halftime show and football game and the headed up to a cookout with Kevin's old housing group.

Chloe got to join in the Tri-Rho picture:

And this pictures scares me....already comfortable chatting with college boys? ;)

um, I'm posting this mostly for a laugh.....our family picture:

Heather and me, in our annual Homecoming picture:
this is what you look like after 3 days of camping and a day outside:

We had a great time with friends and caught up on some sleep on Sunday afternoon! :) What a great vacation!

2. I love Chloe's pink coat. Where can I pick one up for myself? So stylish!

3. Your family photo makes me laugh, and yet it perfectly captures the 4 of you!! :)

4. We need to start taking more pics when you guys visit Aunt Natalie's house.

I always love reading about your camping trip with the Deterdings. I still can't believe how small the world is. :)
Your girls are adorable! The family picture is my favorite. Looks really familiar. I'm hoping to have a neighbor take some Christmas pictures soon and I'm giddy just thinking about how long it's going to take us to get one good shot.
Happy autumn!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
