April at 2 months

April Hope is now 10 pounds, 9 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches long. She had her doctor's appointment this morning and was brave during her first shot! She didn't cry as hard I know she could have :) April is a very happy girl ~ usually smiling and looking around unless she's hungry or sleepy. Her fussy time of day is at night time, but she's done pretty well that last few nights, so maybe she's outgrowing that. She likes hanging out in her bouncy seat, riding in the car (as long as we're moving!), and looking at people's faces. She always gives Chloe and Dad big smiles when they talk with her! She is doing great with tummy time and can hold herself up for a little while before needing a rest :) We love you April Hope! :) Can't wait to see you keep growing and learning!

Just Hanging Out

ah, the lazy days of summer..... Actually, these pictures were taken around 10:00 in the morning, after feeding April, showering, breakfast, folding and putting away laundry, putting April down for a nap, Chloe's breakfast, changing into 'real' clothes, more laundry, unloading the dishwasher, and feeding April again..... So maybe not too lazy, but still wonderful :) Chloe was hard at work on a drawing....in between stares across the street to the roofers working at our neighbors house. April was happy in her bouncy seat watching the world go by. Simple joys: I asked Chloe to show me her drawing: and then I asked if I could take a picture :) Here is her masterpiece:

Bible Conference Vacation

We were on vacation last week with Kevin's side of the family at a Bible Conference. It was a great time ~ and we were busy doing lots of things and not taking pictures....but I ended up with a few that help show what we did all week! I, of course, did not take any pictures while we were listening to the speakers, but they were all very interesting and had great messages. Swimming was one of our main activities....April lounged pool-side watching the action: (yep! that's Chloe's head under the water!!) One of the things that Chloe talked a lot about on the way to the Conference was "Noah" and "water"....and then! she got to go in the water with Noah! :) Kevin spent 3 afternoons with Chloe at the pool ~ and got to show off on the diving board a little bit too: We also spent some time in our room (which was very nice) but April thought the bedspread was a little frightening.... Chloe enjoyed using the baby-monitor as a telephone - she was always callin...

and....We're Back

Could she get any more adorable?? Two months old today! We just returned from vacation, which I'll blog about soon....but last week we had a great time with Chloe's bubble machine!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Kevin!! April says: "Read my bink." You are a terrific Dad and these little girls love you! You are so caring to them both and they will grow up knowing that you love them very much. You are a wonderful husband as well :) Happy Father's Day to Grandpa S. and Pap B. :) We love you both!!

Water!

Just like last year , I participated in water-play with Chloe.... But this year we have a pool (Thanks Sandy!!) and Chloe helped me fill it.... She thought being in the water while still wearing her crocs was so funny.... This little baby hung out pool-side, holding some water toys for Big Sis.... We had a great time staying cool and will be enjoying the water a lot this summer!

Our Weekend

The theme of the weekend was "sprinkle" I think.... We headed down to Bill and Laura's for the weekend. We were one of just a few cars headed that way to celebrate (and witness) Connor being baptized. We made a stop at Mimi and Poppops (April's first time at their house) for lunch and nap time on Friday afternoon. Then, we arrived at our destination right in time for dinner & fun outside. It was hot, so it was great that Bill had the pool set up outside. The Sprinkler was purchased especially for the weekend. And there were a few people that had a lot of fun: Did you think I meant Chloe? :) They even did some jumps: And then someone decided to grab a little girl to make it look like the Sprinkler was not just for the adults :) As if the weekend weren't already packed full, we participated in the neighborhood garage sale: There were only a "sprinkling" of customers, but nothing ended up back in the house and somehow we have a new vegetable steamer...
