Week in Review

Easter happened right before April Hope made her entrance into the world. We started Saturday with an egg hunt at Grandma B's....the Bunny hid the eggs in tricky places, but Chloe managed to find a few:

We then woke up on Easter Sunday and headed to church, lunch at Mommom B's, visiting with cousins, saying hello to Mommom R, and then....

We headed to the hospital at 6:00pm on Sunday night to start the process of being induced. I thought I was going to have an overnight treatment and start pitocin in the morning. When I got there, I was pronounced "3cms dilated" and started pitocin that night instead! I labored through the night and at 3:30 was at 6cms. At 4:10, I told the nurse I felt like this baby was coming and she started prepping for the baby's arrival. At 4:30 I started pushing and 3 contractions later, April Hope was born! (I think this totally makes up for the 3 hours I spent pushing Chloe into the world!)

We were excited to meet her:

And later in the day she got to meet Grandma B, Aunt Laura, Cousin Connor, Aunt Michelle, and Grandpa B. She also got to meet Chloe :)

Tuesday was a day of relaxing and visiting with Dad and Grandma B.

Wednesday we came home as a family of four. Kevin asked Chloe if she could get her picture with April and Chloe sat down to take the picture, which I thought was really cute :)

April was introduced to her Great-Grandmothers on Alison's side and her Great Aunt Nancy on Wednesday afternoon:

Thursday and Friday have been spent looking cute and adjusting to our lives with two little girls! Kevin has been home this week and has been a huge help with everything - how I'll manage when he's not around is still a mystery.

What a week! Celebrating the Risen Lord and welcoming April Hope into our family!!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
