Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend! It started on Thursday when Chloe went to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a sleepover and Kevin and I went to a Third Day concert. We had general-admission tickets, but walked by a security man at just the right time, found out we could sit in seats on the floor-level, and ended up 10 rows back from the stage! It was a great show and I was really excited to be in a chair instead of a bleacher seat!!

We got to visit with Laura, Bill, and Connor on Friday night for dinner when we went to my parents to pick up Chloe. She had a wonderful time at their house ~ lots of laughing and practicing "Bill" (to go along with "Lawa" and "bay-bee"). Connor is getting really big! He's bigger than Chloe was at two months :)

Then! On Saturday morning we packed up everything and headed to visit our friends Jeff and Liz and their little girl Eliana. After nap time on Saturday afternoon we went to the park across the street from their house (literally) and had a great time watching the girls play. Both Kevin and Jeff assisted on the slides & getting up and down the steps -- but some of the slides were the perfect height to let the girls go down all by themselves:

They loved it! Eliana and Chloe both got to ride down the big slides too:

(side note: you can't tell me that Chloe and Kevin don't look the same - this pictures proves it! :) )

These girls would have stayed at the park all day! Look at these happy faces:

We had much more on the agenda - eating BBQ for dinner at City Barbeque (which was excellent!) and then walking through the downtown area and stopping for some organic ice-cream. This place had some interesting flavors - Kevin had Riesling Poached Pear and Wildberry Lavender ... I had Salty Carmel and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. It was really good stuff! :)

When we got back to Jeff & Liz's place it was almost bed time for the girls....but not before a bath!

After playing a few games and chatting until 'late' at night, we headed to bed and then had a wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning before going to church. After church, Liz and I had to get a picture taken. Liz was pregnant with Eliana at the same time I was pregnant with Chloe:

We're also pregnant together this time, the same amount of time in between our due dates as last time!! Liz is due at the end of August (and makes me look really short in this picture! I should have stood on a stool or something!)

The guys had to have a picture with the girls too because we did that the first time we met Eliana. Here they are in March 2010:

and March 2011:

Thank you for hosting us for the weekend Liz and Jeff! You are excellent hosts! Chloe has been wandering around today saying "Ell-y", proof that she had a wonderful time as well :)

Yey! Great post! :) We had a wonderful time with all of you as well, & are excited that the next time we see you, you will have a beautiful new baby. Eliana definitely misses Chloe as well ... I asked her today if she missed her friend, and she did the sign for 'yes'...it was so cute...

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
