The 26th and 27th

Here we go with the next few days of Christmas:

On the 26th my dad's side of the family got together, like we always do, and had a great meal, fellowship, and a gift exchange. Chloe and Grace had a fun time wandering around together - mostly up and down a little step between the living room and family room.

I drew Erin's name and Kevin drew Jared's name so we did a group gift for them - a new camp stove and some accessories :) Erin had my name this year and gave me a beautiful display jar, earrings and a sparkly scarf.....which I don't have any pictures of because it's hard to take a picture and unwrap a gift at the same time! :)

Laura and Bill were unable to travel because of their soon-to-come-baby, but we had them on a webcam for the gift exchange part of the evening. Here is Chloe saying hello to them on the computer:

We left directly from my grandma's house to Kevin's grandparents - and it ended up working pretty well....Chloe fell asleep and stayed asleep for the whole drive....which was good :)

The next morning we spent time checking out Mimi's porch (which is full of Christmas cookies!):

We also played with some toys and then by lunchtime everyone else had arrived and we watched Chloe and Noah open new toys from Mimi and Poppop. This is Chloe's "princess-mobile" and she loves it! She can climb on and off and likes to carry around the little girl that came with it. Grandma S. helped Chloe figure everything out:

I'm mostly posting this picture for Uncle Mark.....Here is our fabulous Christmas dinner:

After dinner the rest of us exchange gifts and then we got to exchange with Kevin's parents. We were going to host them at our house for the holiday but Kevin's dad was sick and couldn't make the trip. So, we had a little gift-opening party at Mimi and Poppop's. Chloe liked opening up her new doll:

and some legos!

I got a new necklace:

and Kevin can now make a whole pancake breakfast at one time! :)

We had a great time with both sides of the family. We got home on Tuesday evening, had two busy days at home and then hit the road again for the New Year's weekend. Because I'm sure you're already on picture overload, that will wait until another post :)

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
