24th and 25th

I'll be doing the Christmas re-cap in a few posts, mostly because some of the pictures are still on the camera :)

We were all home on the 24th and Chloe went outside in the snow for the first time this winter. Kevin stayed outside longer than I did - I just snapped a few pictures :)

Here is Chloe all bundled up:

She really seemed to like being outside.....who cares that it's cold? :)

Later in the day we had dinner and then got dressed up for the Christmas Eve service at church:

Christmas morning! We opened presents by the tree at our house first.

What could this be?...

A new sippy cup!

Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa B's house. There was one present that was almost as big as Chloe:

It was a grocery cart and "groceries" for Chloe! She has had a lot of fun pushing it around and 'shopping' :)

Chloe got a lot of other great gifts too - clothes, a ball, bath toys, and this pair of slippers from Aunt Michelle's boyfriend:

We spent the rest of the day eating and playing the Wii. It was a fun, snowy Christmas Day! Next post? the 26th and 27th :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)
