Latest Project

Two years ago friends of ours from church gave us their old patio furniture. I've been wanting to use it, so I decided to spruce it up a little before summer weather gets here.

Here is what the old chair pads looked like:

I recovered them with some red and white material:

Here is what the chairs looked like originally:
I had to prime them first....

and then....Red!

Here is the finished project:

Now that they look much better, maybe we'll use these chairs while enjoying the sunshine from our back porch :)

What?...were you expecting a picture of Chloe? ;) Here's one for you who made it to the end of this post. It was taken on Easter by my talented cousin Erin.

The furniture looks great, I think I'll stop by sometime to sit and enjoy the gardens!

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
