A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....

New Cup

Chloe will probably start drinking juice pretty soon. When she does, she'll have the perfect cup to start with...although we'll need to teach her how it works. Right now, she just holds it like she knows what to do with it :) Thanks Aunt Michelle for the new cup :)

Latest Project

Two years ago friends of ours from church gave us their old patio furniture. I've been wanting to use it, so I decided to spruce it up a little before summer weather gets here. Here is what the old chair pads looked like: I recovered them with some red and white material: Here is what the chairs looked like originally: I had to prime them first.... and then....Red! Here is the finished project: Now that they look much better, maybe we'll use these chairs while enjoying the sunshine from our back porch :) What?...were you expecting a picture of Chloe? ;) Here's one for you who made it to the end of this post. It was taken on Easter by my talented cousin Erin .

Spring

I'd say this is evidence that Spring actually is here: This little chick-a-dee is loving that it's warm outside.

Time is Flying By....Chloe at 8 months

I can hardly believe that Chloe is 8 months old! Can you? Chloe is particular, cheerful, loving (submitted by Aunt Michelle), and loved. She is starting to give kisses, only when asked, and also lunges towards toys that are a little out of her reach. She continues to love Cheerios, her green ball, books, and singing. Cars driving by are a new favorite and so is being outside in the sunshine. She rides in her stroller without the car seat and loves being able to see where we are headed. She can also "walk" when she holds onto our hands. She cries when I sit her in the grass. This does not look good for future camping trips. We'll be working on that :) She will be 9 months before we know it!

This is what happens...

...when you take pictures every day: You're bound to end up with some funny ones :) "what's taking so long to get the Cheerios...huh?" this one was by total accident - I didn't even know her tongue was out until I put the pictures on my computer! this one is currently our desktop background - to me, it's one of the funniest pictures of Chloe that we have :)

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! First, Kevin's parents came for a visit from Thursday to Saturday. It was wonderful to have them here. We went for a walk/bike ride on Friday, played games, visited with Chloe, and they helped us eat some food from our freezer that broke! Sunday morning, Chloe woke up to find that the "Easter-Bunny-Paul & Sandy" had left something for her! After church we went to lunch at Alison's grandmas. We got to visit with cousins... and took some pictures outside.... Then we headed back home to meet up with more family. We took some more pictures.... and Chloe ended up wearing her basket from Grandma and Grandpa S. on her head! We're so crazy ;)

Cheerios

Chloe started eating Cheerios recently. She loves them! Each day, she gets better at getting them in her mouth on her own. It's funny to watch her put so much effort into picking up each piece...and then shoving her whole hand into her mouth to get it :) She's also starting making a new face because of her excitement over the Cheerios. She also makes this face for peas. It's hard to get on camera, but I think you'll get the point...her nose is little, but she's attempting to scrunch it up :)

Happy Easter!

We hope you all have a fun day celebrating our Risen Lord! Happy Easter!
