April at One Month

I waited to do this post because our doctor appointment for April was moved to today, so she's technically 5 weeks....but that's okay! April Hope is now 9 pounds, 3 ounces...exactly one pound heavier than her birth weight...and 22 inches long. (For those who are interested, Chloe was 9lbs. 4oz & 22in. at one month) She started sleeping through the night (eating for the last time around 10:00pm and waking up between 6:30 and 7 am) on May 25th - her one month 'birthday'. Mom was a-okay with that! :) April is a very content baby most of the time....Once she gets hungry, everyone knows it! She goes from quiet to very loud quickly!! She is bringing us lots of joy ~ and Chloe is still loving "Eigh-tol" (the phonetic spelling of her version of "April"). We are thankful that the sisters are getting along!! We can't wait to see April continue to grow! :)

Outside!!

We have been spending a lot of time outside recently because the sun isn't hiding behind rain clouds anymore (although, it might be raining while I type this!)... Last weekend we went to my parents for a cook-out to visit with Laura and Bill while they were in town for a very short while. Chloe had almost everyone there outside in the grass: Aunt Laura (or as Chloe says "Lawa Lawa Lawa"....who never gets a minute of rest when Chloe is around...It's like her mom, but nicer ;) This was the first time that it seemed like Chloe realized we looked the same! She called me Lawa a few times....) Ring-around-a-rosie...or Motorboat....not sure which one with Grandma ("Na-Ma"), Mom, and Aunt Laura Headstands with Daddy and Aunt Laura....(Grandpap did one too!!) Pap Mommom B. Uncle Bill (or "Buh") This cutie was also in attendance, but didn't play in the grass. Instead, she enjoyed the shade with Grandma, Great-Grandmas and friends :)

Many Faces of April

I did a post about Chloe's many faces , and I recently took a bunch of pictures of April making a lot of different facial expressions. I think it's funny to see what they can do without even knowing that they are looking happy or sad! :) I love the double chin that April is sporting, and in this first one, I think she might be raising one eyebrow! :) How cute is this face!?

Bubbles

Two different girls....two different kinds of bubbles....one totally content....the other very upset.... (Kevin was trying to teach Chloe how to use the bubble wand... she thought her method of using the wand upside-down was better....she's still learning!)

"Wearing my Baby"

Check out my new baby-sling :) It's very handy to have two hands available to carry bags and hold a 1 1/2 year old's hand while walking in and out of church...the library...etc. And April likes it too :)

Sisters

These pictures make me want to cry and laugh at the same time. Because I know how much I love my sisters ~ and I hope Chloe and April love each other just as much (because I don't think more is possible!) and that makes me a little emotional, because I can see how early on that love develops.... and it makes me think about how a sister bond starts so early in life.... But these pictures also make me laugh.... because Chloe is soooo in love with April.... but I don't know exactly how April feels about Chloe.... but I'd bet that Chloe is the one that gets April's first real smile!!

Recent Happenings...

Kevin's parents came to meet April Hope last weekend ~ we were glad they were able to come so soon after they arrived back from Mark & JungMin's wedding.... Although they were probably exhausted, I'm glad that they got to see April when she was just 2 weeks old! Of course, Chloe enjoyed having them here too :) Kevin was out of town for a few days last week and I managed to survive with both girls - probably because we got out of the house a little bit, had Grandma B stop in, and meals come from church :) It's much better having him home, of course! :) This past weekend we planted vegetables in our garden. This year, Kevin had an assistant.... We have peas, lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, broccoli, and cucumbers...carrots will be planted soon! I was in charge of making our 'flags' to encourage the birds to stay away from our seeds.... ...and look at how much help my assistant was :) We're looking forward to enjoying the produce from our garden later thi...

Mimi and Poppop meet April

We enjoyed having Mimi and Poppop come out for a visit last week ~ I especially loved having them around to help because Kevin went back to work. Extra hands are always welcome :) Mimi and Poppop spent their time getting to know April. Her main activities while they were here: laying around Sleeping... and making funny faces :) They also stayed busy by playing with Chloe. She knows them well and calls them by name....and is still talking about their visit! Legos: Checking the mail: Playdough! This is what Chloe is still talking about ~ she randomly mentions playdough...and then shouts "Poppop"! :) Other events that happened while they were here: Blowing bubbles....someone thought she should be holding the bubble wand... April's First Bath! She loved it - very quiet the whole time and wide awake afterward! Thank you for coming Mimi and Poppop! We love you :)

Baby Pool Winner

Poppop is the winner of the Baby Pool for April Hope! He guessed 4/25 AM, and April came on the 25th at 4:42am! Poppop got to meet April last week (a post on his and Mimi's visit soon!) and I think she loves him already :) **Disclaimer: for those of you who haven't noticed, I picked 4/25 PM in the Baby Pool! I picked that date three weeks before knowing I would be induced.....so it wasn't fixed! ;)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms in our lives! Mom S. Mom B. Mommom B. Mommom R. Mimi Aunt Laura & Aunt Michelle (who help with our girls a lot... Happy First Mother's Day Laura!) All these ladies have recently met April, so I posted pictures of them with her. Of course, Chloe loves them too :)
