5th Year Reunion

It's hard to believe that five years have passed since we graduated college.....but, when looking for a picture to put in this blog post, I realized that all my graduation pictures were taken on a film camera, so maybe it's not that hard to believe :)

Anyway, we went back to GCC this weekend to celebrate our 5th year at Homecoming. We got to see a lot of good friends (missed you Duttons and Deterdings!!) and talked to some professors as well. We arrived in time to watch the parade:

We met up with my cousins after lunch, which led to a bigger group of friends hanging out. We had fun watching the little girls play together.

Towards the end of our time on campus, we headed back to the Tri-Rho hall for some pictures by the sign:

We ended the day with a great dinner at Red Robin with the Jones' and the Martins. Chloe did great all day and we all enjoyed the beautiful weather!

We're so sad we missed it! We'll have a hole in our collection of Homecoming group pictures :( I hope we'll all be together again next year when I celebrate the big 5!

Glad you had a fun time!

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)
