It's beginning to look a lot....

...like Christmas!

Even if things look different, some things still continue or are have been added this year for more Christmas fun!

We got our Christmas tree, made press cookies and hard-tack candy, and took a short trip down the road to see an indoor-Christmas-tree-display (75 trees!). The kids are having fun this season, just hoping for more snow :)

(Our tree now has an angel on top. When put in the shaker at the tree-farm, the top "branch" came flying off!  April grabbed it, we brought it home and it's now stuck back on holding the angel!)

Kevin oversees the making of the press cookies each year. His mom made them growing up. If we didn't have children, we'd only ever make the tree shape. This year, the kiddos convinced him to make wreaths and camels!

The day after Thanksgiving is when we usually make hard-tack candy. Most of the kids helped this year, but I just snapped these ones of Peter helping with Aunt Laura.

I grew up going to this store/greenhouse/toy shop. You can walk through the display at Christmas and Easter.  Every tree is decorated with a different theme and you can find all the ornaments and decorations on sale.  The kids loved it! We walked through twice :)

Wedding!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Martin! :) We attended Natalie and Dallas' wedding on Saturday and had a lovely time. We know both the bride and groom from college....and just happen to be great friends with the bride's parents as well (Hi Bill and Doreen!). Here is the new couple - Natalie looked beautiful, and Dallas looked pretty good too ;) Here I am with the bride - check out her BLUE shoes! No wedding is complete without a little dancing and singing....particularly to Livin on a Prayer....Steve, Jeff, and Kevin sang at the top of their lungs and performed an air guitar solo: even the bride joined in: We had a great time! I'm thinking of the honeymooners.....kind of wishing I was on a tropical island somewhere too! :)

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
