Beach, Birthday, Back to School

August was a busy month! We started by traveling.  We went to the Poconos to meet up with my dad's side of the family and stayed for one night....because we were headed to the beach!  It was a full 24-hours of fun :)

We arrived at the beach on Saturday afternoon and headed straight to the water!

It was a busy week - but oh so much fun.  Kevin's brother and sister-in-law were there with us and we did "all the things".

Peter got a belated birthday gift (nerf gun!) and Chloe got an early one (karaoke microphone!!)

A highlight for everyone was the Dolphin Cruise that we did.  Look how close we got to the dolphins! They liked swimming in the boat's wake.

When we got back, it was time to celebrate Chloe's 10th birthday with our family!  Look at her blowing out all the candles :)

She got to have a friends part this year too - American Girl Doll themed.  10 sweet girls came to celebrate her and she had a blast (and got a lot of nice gifts!)

Chloe's birthday signals that school is right around the corner.  Our first day was last week.  4th grade and 3rd grade for Chloe and April. Kindergarten for Peter!!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)
