Christmas Re-Cap

There were gifts under the tree on Christmas morning :)  Our kids did stockings, then we had breakfast and read through the last day of our Advent devotional, then we did the rest of our gifts.

We changed out of Christmas pjs and went to my mom's for Christmas lunch and presents with my family. Connor gets the award for best reactions I think! :)

We relaxed on the 26th at home (had my sister and her family for lunch) and then headed to Kevin's dad's house for the weekend. We opened gifts on Thursday night with Mark and JungMin

On Friday we saw Kevin's mom, who has moved to a nursing home. The kids like going there to visit and we got to sing and walk around with her. It was a good visit.

Saturday evening the Tipton's came over and gave gifts - Kevin declared his the "best gift" ….and had used it a lot already ;)

Sunday after church we left for home. And friends who were also driving home stopped at our place to break up their drive. How wonderful to have friends you've known for a while...and now have kids that are friends with your kids. It was fun to see them and to see our kids having such a good time together.

The Hoffmans came down for New Years Eve. Bill treated us to homemade donuts in the morning and the guys compared beards ;)  (Kevin grew this goatee over break, Bill's beard is a regular thing).

Good thing it was only a 3-day school week, because we had a busy break! Last weekend we started with Bible Study on Friday, relaxing Saturday, and got to watch Mary Poppins Returns after church! :)  I loved the movie and Kevin loved that his football team won their game...what an exciting Sunday.

Camping Trips #2 and #3

At the beginning of August, we went on a camping trip with my immediate family. We had great campsites, right next to each other, and had fabulous weather. Chloe had a great time hanging out with her Aunt Laura, Uncle Bill, and Aunt Michelle: She also loved my dad's cell phone ringtone: Who says you can't eat great food while you're camping? Check out our dinner feast on Saturday night....Corn on the cob, cheeseburgers, grilled pineapple: Chloe had her first taste of the "beach" when we went to the lake one day. It was the first time she was in the sand, and I think she really liked it! When looking back at the camping pictures, I realized that Chloe wore a lot of hats on this trip: We got back from a Cousins Camping Trip on Sunday night. (Almost) All my cousins got together for the weekend and we had a great time. Another camping trip with good campsites and this time we just had okay weather. It rained Saturday night so everything was a bit soggy on Sunday ...

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
