Christmas 3 & 4

We made our way to Kevin's parents the Wednesday after Christmas.  Trains were Peter's #1 priority and he got a lot of time downstairs with Daddy and Grandpa.

We got to see some of Kevin's family - April makes friends with everyone!!  At one point she shouted out "hug the one you love!" and gave Uncle Bob a huge hug :)

Thursday we hung around the house and ran out to the mall to get some energy out. Then we had our gift opening with Kevin's parents, brother, and sister-in-law.

On Friday, we headed to Poppop and Mimi's.  Peter was hungry....so he ate first ;)

April continued to love on her relatives ;)  during the gift exchange! Uncle Matt was so nice to April :)

Chloe drew Noah's name in the exchange.  My uncle made him an arrow-pen and he was LOVING it.  He liked hearing it was made from a real arrow :)

How did we ring in the New Year?  By building "lego land" in the playroom!!

Thanksgiving Turkey

My brother-in-law raises turkeys, and we had one on Thanksgiving this year! It was a 31 pound turkey and took up a lot of space in my refrigerator for a few days before the holiday. I started the cooking process early so it was done by lunchtime.  Here is the turkey, barely fitting into my oven!  "the farmer and the chef" :)

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!
