1st birthday Weekend

I love celebrating :)  We had such a great time visiting with both sides of the family (plus our "adoptive" family, my brother-in-law's parents and siblings).  Here are some pictures of Peter's birthday, Peter and Brooke's party and the day after.

On the 22nd we sang to Peter at lunchtime and had cupcakes.  I think he liked it!

What is this thing on my head?

I'm going to pull it off.

Hm. I think I like this!

He dug right in, loved the icing :)

On the 23rd we had a joint party with Brooke.  Here we are singing.  Peter is eying the cupcake....Brooke is playing it cool.

What are these people doing? Singing?

These people are doing it too!

Peter is excited. Brooke is still cool-girl.

Massaging the icing.

LOOK at those little fingers, careful not to touch the messy icing.

Oh yeah. I got this.

Mom, why did you give me this?

I am going to mash this into every part of my hands.

Aunt Alison, I had a miniscule bite already and hate it. Please stop.

Brooke, you don't like it?

Brooke doesn't like hers. I love mine.

Hands up in surrender.

Present opening went like this:

What is this, I'm going to attack it.

Please, can I hug it?

Sunday, we had everyone over for dinner & some water play.  Mawna got her picture taken with the babies :)

Also, a group picture was attempted.....this is where I just start laughing hysterically.

How about a nice picture of Chloe and Connor?

April can be seen wandering in the background :)
We had such a great time celebrating Peter's first year!! :)  Seems like an official start to summer :)

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
