Thanksgiving Recap

We got to see lots of family over Thanksgiving, which is always a great thing.  First up, Mimi and Poppop's house....

A little reading....

And a little playing....

Then the next day was Thanksgiving! :)

This sweet cherub face - isn't he ADORABLE? :)

This bib means business, and Peter got to have green beans this Thanksgiving.  I have a feeling he'll be eating a lot more than beans next year ;)

Back from that visit, we headed to Mawna and Paps to kick off our Christmas season.  The guys abandoned the girls - which meant we have 5 kids 5 and under to care for all while making hard-tack candy.....so we turned on a movie :)

During the scary parts, Mawna came to the rescue.

Cinnamon was helping with the candy making :)

The boys returned! Uncle Tom read a funny book to the girls...April looks a little unsure :)

Then we kicked the big kids out with the guys and Aunt Chelle....They went up to the parade site a little bit early and checked out some of the extra activities.  The kiddos had a blast!

During the parade, I had this little guy to keep me warm!

There were "balloons just like the Maceys parade" -- a quote from my mother.....what do you think?

Sweet Brooke with her Mom :)

This is the best one - Uncle Bill yelled at the handlers until they raised it up a bit and we all cheered really loud!  It was okay though, Bill had traveled 5 hours to get to see these balloons....don't be afraid of a little wind! :)

Who knows if the parade will be a tradition, but candy making is!  We are looking forward to more Christmas traditions to happen this month!

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Mexico 2025 ;)

After a year of not blogging, I'm making this post as an attempt to restart :)  We went on a family vacation back in February that was wonderful. It was a good time of year to travel and the picture above is from the first day. We got to the resort at lunchtime, threw on the swimsuits, and then had a dinner reservation at 6! So it was a jam-packed day but everyone was thrilled! We enjoyed time at the pool, the kids grew more confident in speaking Spanish and ordering drinks, and each night was a great dinner & ice cream at the little coffee shop :) Everyone has said they would go back :)  Maybe some day!
