Busy Weekend!

This picture above was taken at our church's Christmas Tea.  It's for women of the church (of all ages) and is a great way to start the Christmas season!  I took Chloe and April along this year.  I curled their hair before we went and they had fancy dresses on too.  April's hair held those curls really well -- you'll see in the next few photos.  She wanted me to do it again after her bath - she wanted "bouncy hair" she said :)

Next up was Saturday's Gingerbread house activity - also at our church.  It was great fun, and here are our two final products.  April's is the top picture, Chloe's is second.

Based on Peter's shirt, can you guess what we did on Sunday?

That's right! Got our tree :)  Peter and I stayed home because I suspected he was getting pink-eye .... so the girls went with Kevin and picked the most perfect tree!

A little time-out for egg nog in Christmas cups is always a good idea. And gives the parents a few minutes to get the tree in the stand and not crooked ;)

This little boy LOVES watching the train go round and round! :)

Every ornament we own is on this tree.  I mean, even the ones that I wouldn't put on every time, these girls found and put on the tree. Here is April's contribution -- three ornaments on the same branch :)

It's beautiful.

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
