New Master Bedroom

I called this "the project before the project"....in order to have a space for our baby boy, a move was in order -- Kevin and I moved downstairs to the third bedroom.

Most of the time we've lived here, the bedroom has looked like this:

Well, not empty....pretty full of baby stuff, etsy shop things, stuff for the swimming pool....It was a catch-all place.  Then, we cleared it out and the renovations began!

A new window was installed, new ceiling, a fan (which Kevin did by himself!) and new paint....carpet replaced the tiles.

Then, we had some help from Tom to move the furniture one weekend.

A trip to the store for a new bedspread and some fabric for a curtain (and coordinating pillow!) and it's almost done!

We'll be hanging up some pictures and I'd like to do something fun with different frames and items under the window (since we don't have the mirror attached to our long dresser anymore).

Now the room upstairs is being converted into a nursery! I'll post pictures of that soon :)

Spring has sprung?

This week has brought some strange weather! On Saturday, it was freezing while we watched Peter's baseball game - it was the "late night, under the lights" 8:00 pm game. and my toes were numb when the game was over. Then, Sunday was beautiful weather to watch soccer! April scored TWO goals in her game! We had a silent-auction at a church lunch on Sunday to raise money for the Youth Group Missions Trip. Peter bid on a cooler full of interesting flavored soda-pop....and he won! The first one he tried? Pickle Pop.  For a few years, our neighborhood has been the area of choice for a few mallard ducks to nest. The momma duck picked my neighbors' driveway this year...it seems like Spring must be coming if there are eggs!

Crazy May

As is typical with three active kids, we've had a busy last few weeks! Photos coming soon of the dance recital, Peter's birthday party, school activities and more :)  Here is our May started: No power for 5 days! A wind-storm went through our area and several power lines were knocked over. We did have school for 3 days. The weather was perfectly sunny and 70 degrees, so it wasn't too bad :)

Mexico 2025 ;)

After a year of not blogging, I'm making this post as an attempt to restart :)  We went on a family vacation back in February that was wonderful. It was a good time of year to travel and the picture above is from the first day. We got to the resort at lunchtime, threw on the swimsuits, and then had a dinner reservation at 6! So it was a jam-packed day but everyone was thrilled! We enjoyed time at the pool, the kids grew more confident in speaking Spanish and ordering drinks, and each night was a great dinner & ice cream at the little coffee shop :) Everyone has said they would go back :)  Maybe some day!
