Big Girl Beds

Sunday night we put a second big-girl-bed in the girls' room.  Chloe has been sleeping in hers for about two weeks and has no problems transitioning from her toddler bed.

Kevin painted these frames and I think they look great! They were originally just plain wood, but have been drastically improved with (a few) coats of paint!

She loves it! :)

This is the bed we put in on Sunday evening - and April was excited!! We've put the headboard at the foot of her bed, as a way to create another "wall" and you can see the bed-rail for the side.  I think it seems like a bigger transition because she moved straight from a crib to this twin bed - but it's working out great!

Daddy tucking her in!

How long will she stay this way? Might be turned around by morning! :)

*I'm working on quilts for these beds....that's a post for another day :)

It looks great! Connor moves around a lot in his twin sized bed, but I'm not worried so much about him falling out since it's bigger - one benefit of a bigger bed. :) Have fun April and Chloe! I wonder when you'll come in and find them in the same bed...:)

Quilts! Alison - you're so ambitious. :) I'm going to have to get you to teach me how. (You know, someday in our free time... ;))

Camping Trips #2 and #3

At the beginning of August, we went on a camping trip with my immediate family. We had great campsites, right next to each other, and had fabulous weather. Chloe had a great time hanging out with her Aunt Laura, Uncle Bill, and Aunt Michelle: She also loved my dad's cell phone ringtone: Who says you can't eat great food while you're camping? Check out our dinner feast on Saturday night....Corn on the cob, cheeseburgers, grilled pineapple: Chloe had her first taste of the "beach" when we went to the lake one day. It was the first time she was in the sand, and I think she really liked it! When looking back at the camping pictures, I realized that Chloe wore a lot of hats on this trip: We got back from a Cousins Camping Trip on Sunday night. (Almost) All my cousins got together for the weekend and we had a great time. Another camping trip with good campsites and this time we just had okay weather. It rained Saturday night so everything was a bit soggy on Sunday ...

34 Weeks

34 weeks and my belly button has popped out :)  haha!  I'm still feeling a lot of movement and today my doctor said everything was great.  Here's some info on our "Baby Brother", as I refer to this little guy with Chloe and April: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds ( about the size of a cantaloupe ) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor , you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
