Chloe at 11 months

I can hardly believe that Chloe will have her 1st birthday next month. She is getting increasingly mobile these days - her 'crawl' is getting faster and faster. She is also pulling up on anything she trusts and occasionally cruises from one place to another. If you watched the video, you have also seen that she can use the walker...but needs Dad's help on the turns :)

Chloe still loves music of any kind ~ she sways back and forth when the music starts. Singing will bring her out of any temper tantrum or pout. She likes to be outside and still tries to eat rocks...something we're still slowly learning...

Over Memorial Day, Chloe had quite an interest in the American flag and at the 4th of July we found that her love hadn't faded and she carried around the flag all day. She likes her new toys (nesting boxes and a "push the button, door pops open") but is still interested in some of her old ones. She likes anything with a lid and has a new fascination with books - not having them read, but turning the pages by herself.

She eats well most of the time and is still a very good sleeper. In this coming month we are going camping for the first time and we'll see how she sleeps in a tent!

We love you Chloe!

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
