More Visiting with Mark!

Mark came for a visit this week and we had a great time hanging out. We had dinner with my parents on Wednesday night and then.....we started....:

"RISK: The Game of World Domination"

Mark was carefully weighing every move...
but Kevin ended up being the winner:
I spent most of the game attempting to hold onto North and South America (at one point, there was talk among the brothers as to how THEY were going to attack ME! Can you believe it!) ...but also left plenty of time for arranging my soldiers:

Thursday afternoon we went bowling (Kevin and Mark bowled, Chloe and I watched):

Michelle came over for dinner on Thursday night and we enjoyed the nice evening by sitting outside....

Once Chloe went to bed, we started another game....

Michelle was the Grand Champion. Some of her property is shown in the picture below....Those gray ships are the equivalent to hotels in regular Monopoly.

Friday morning we got to meet Mark's girlfriend using video chat on Skype. It was very nice to meet her and it was amazing to think of the technology used to make her seem like she was in the room with us! Chloe loved watching her on the screen :)

(a webcam, used to 'chat' with people far away!)

We had a wonderful visit with Mark and of course I cried when he left. Chloe cried too, but it was because she was ready for nap time :)

We love you Mark!!

Isn't Skype great? We got webcams for us and for my Mom, so Eliana can "chat" with her Grandma Jones.

More Bloopers

These pictures just make me laugh ~ especially the last two. I have a feeling that Aunt Laura, in particular, will think those last two are funny also. :)

A dear friend

I'm leading the study tomorrow at my Bible Study. We're reading a book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan and the chapter I'm in 'charge of' of real life examples of people who are living completely for Christ. I've come up with an example from my own life to talk about and I thought I'd let my blog readers in on what I'm going to share tomorrow. Enjoy! I met Mrs. Hohman on a hot July afternoon after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor’s door. I stood on her front porch with my mom, nervously waiting to meet the woman I planned on living with for my first year at Grove City . I felt like I was towering over her short frame as she showed me the 3 rd floor and barked the rules of “no swearing, no smoking, no boys”. I handed over my rent check and moved to her house in late August. September came and a fellow freshman had a mental breakdown and her bed was now available to me…… So, after 3 weeks of living with Mrs. Hohman I moved out....
